Man, woman arrested after Molotov cocktail hurled at NDG restaurant

Montreal police have arrested two people after a Molotov cocktail was thrown through the window of a Notre-Dame-de-Grâce restaurant early Tuesday morning.

Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant said around 1:20 a.m., police were on their way to another call when they spotted flames at Boustan restaurant on Sherbrooke Street at Grand Boulevard.

The window was broken and a Molotov cocktail had been thrown inside, Brabant said.

A 28-year-old man and 39-year-old woman were apprehended nearby and eventually arrested in connection with the arson investigation.

They will be questioned by investigators this morning.

The fire caused minor damage to the restaurant, which opened in January.

Owners hope to reopen sometime today, according to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page.
