Man and woman from Windsor arrested for string of car thefts in Nova Scotia

Driver, 18, arrested after leading police on high-speed chase

A pair from Windsor were driving in a stolen SUV when they were arrested for a string of car thefts stretching from Ontario and nine Nova Soctia communities, according to the RCMP.

A 37-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were nabbed by the Lunenburg County District RCMP and Bridgewater police on June 22 while riding in a 2015 Toyota Highlander.

The pair have been linked to stolen vehicles in Liverpool, New Germany, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Chester, Tantallon, Guysborough, Stallarton and Antigonish, N.S. They have also been connected with thefts in Windsor.

The man is charged with five counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of possession of stolen property, one count each of uttering threats and assault and two counts of breaching probation.

The woman faces three counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of possession of stolen property and one count each of assault and breach of probation.

They will appear in provincial court on Wednesday.
