What is it?

A quarter-final clash between Manchester City and Lyon in Lisbon. Man City reached this stage by beating Real Madrid over two legs, while Lyon knocked out Juventus. Now we enter one-leg knockout territory. After 90 minutes (plus extra time and penalties if needed) the winner goes through to the semis. The semi-finals and final will also take place in Lisbon.

When is it?

Saturday, August 15.

What time is kick-off?

8pm.

What TV channel is it on?

BT Sport 1 from 7pm.

What is the team news?

Sergio Aguero is likely to join up with his Manchester City team-mates in Portugal later this week but his chances of featuring in the club’s Champions League quarter-final against Lyon are slim.

The Argentina striker underwent knee surgery last month and has been undergoing intensive rehabilitation in Barcelona in the hope of playing some part in City's bid to win a first European Cup.

Aguero, 32, has been out for seven weeks and is running out of time to be ready to face Lyon in the Lisbon mini-tournament, although whether he is in a position to return for a prospective semi-final against Bayern Munich or Barcelona four days later remains to be seen. The final will be held on Sunday week.

What are they saying?

Bernardo Silva has extra motivation to win the Champions League with it being contested on home turf:

"The Champions League is the only competition we still haven't won at this club. Most of our players haven't won it yet, including me.

"It will be very special to win it. For me, even more so because it's my city and it's an extra motivation to fight for the trophy here. It would definitely be special to win the Champions League in Lisbon.

"We play every competition to win, we try to give our best in every competition. This one is the only one we haven't won. It's a goal for the club, the fans, the staff, everyone. If we could do it this year, it would be a proud moment and we would include our names in the history of the club."

What are the odds?

  • Man City to win - 1/4

  • Draw - 57/10

  • Lyon to win - 12/1

What's our prediction?

City arrived in Portugal on Monday in a bid to acclimatise. And Gabriel Jesus' impressive form over both legs of the round-of-16 win against Real have been a boon for Guardiola in the absence of Aguero. City have no excuses.
Predicted score: Manchester City 3 Lyon 1
