Harry Maguire, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani are all expected to be available as Manchester United welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford this weekend.

The trio all missed Tuesday's impressive Champions League win away to Paris Saint-Germain but will be given the chance to prove their fitness for Saturday's tea-time kick-off.

Maguire picked up a small muscle injury in the 4-1 win at Newcastle last weekend while Mason Greenwood did not travel to Paris due to a "niggle", according to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Cavani is waiting to make his United debut having joined as a free agent on transfer deadline day and Solskjaer has been impressed by the Uruguayan's efforts to build match fitness.

"I hope and expect all three of them to be available for selection," Solskjaer said at his pre-match press conference on Friday morning.

"Of course we've got a training session this morning but, yeah, they've all got a chance, all of them.

"There's two different reasons, so Edinson wants to tick all the boxes that he's gone through in his programme and feel ready to make an impact.

Jesse Lingard and Eric Bailly remain sidelined through unspecified injuries while Anthony Martial serves the second instalment of a three-game domestic suspension.

"Eric won’t be available. Jesse won’t be available so we’ll manage without them for a few weeks I think,” Solskjaer said.
