Manny Pacquiao denies signing with Under Armour

The boxing champ's rep says that they are negotiating with another brand instead

24 Feb - Representatives of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao have recently denied rumours that Pacquiao has found a new apparel partner following his Nike contract termination.

According to Spin News, speculations of his new endorsement deal sparked recently when Pacquiao was seen wearing Under Armour's basketball shoes during his training.

However, Pacquiao's manager Arnold Vegafria had since dismissed the rumours, saying that they have not struck any deal with the Baltimore-based company.

"However, I can say that we are already in the middle of negotiations with different sports apparel brands," said Vegafria.

When asked to name the brands that they are currently negotiating with, Vegafria said that they will be kept secret for the time being.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao's head of staff Haplas Fernandez revealed that the boxer's training shoes were actually bought last May with his children, who were fans of the NBA MVP, Stephen Curry, who popularised the brand.

Pacquiao's decade-long endorsement with Nike ended last week when the brand decided to cut ties with him following the controversy surrounding his opinion about same-sex marriage.
