How many triangles are in this picture? Try the latest puzzler to baffle the internet

At first glance this brainteaser looks perfectly simple.

All you have to do is count how many triangles you can see in the picture, that has been shared thousands of times on Facebook.

However, it has left the Internet well and truly baffled, with answers ranging from four to 44.

But how many triangles can YOU see?

The actual answer is 25 – although you’d be forgiven if you only counted 24.

Kumar Ankit, who created the drawing for quora.com, added a cheeky little triangle in his signature.

If you are still baffled as to how the answer can be 25, mathematician Martin Silvertant created this handy diagram that reveals all:

You would be forgiven for not finding all the triangles in the picture (Martin Silvertant)

There are some people who actually count 26 triangles in the brainteaser.

How did they work that out? Well, they simply added up all the triangles – including the one in Kumar’s signature, then added the actual word ‘triangles’ that is written alongside it.
