Marathon man charged with impaired driving after vehicle lands in ditch

MARATHON — A 31-year-old man is facing charges after police responded to a collision Thursday afternoon in the town of Marathon.

Bradley Pawlowski of Marathon is charged with the following:

Marathon Ontario Provincial Police responded to the single motor vehicle collision on Graham Crescent, according to a news release issued Friday, Dec. 18.

When officers arrived they found a man in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the ditch on Graham Crescent. The driver was in and out of consciousness and was attended to by emergency medical services. Officers then determined he was heavily intoxicated by either drug or alcohol.

The man was transported by EMS to the local hospital where he was treated and later released. Police transported the driver to the local OPP detachment Marathon for further testing.

The driver was later released with a court date in Marathon to answer to the charges. His vehicle was impounded for seven days.

OPP encourages the public to call 911 or contact police at 1-800-310-1122 whenever suspecting a driver is impaired operating a motor vehicle.
