The Chase's Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett renamed himself “skinny beast” as he showed off the results of his recent weight loss.

The TV star, known as The Beast on the hit ITV quiz show, has been shedding the pounds and impressed his fans with a snap of his new shape.

The picture, shared on Twitter, showed Labbett posing sideways on in a pair of trousers that were clearly too big for him and a baggy shirt.

“Lost a bit of waistline, still a long way to go :),” he wrote.

He added the hashtags “#skinnybeast” and “doubletwoshirts”.

Labbett, 54, has been losing weight for some time.

He has not shared how many pounds he has shed to date but in 2018 the star told fans that at that point he had “dropped 2.5 stones” as well as losing “four inches off chest and six inches off stomach”.

The star, who used to be a teacher, was inundated with positive feedback from fans after tweeting his latest picture.

“Well done, you look fab!” one person posted on Twitter, while another said Labbett looked “incredible”.

“OMG! Well done, looking good Mark,” posted another, adding: “Although you’re going to have to change your chaser name from the #beast to… maybe the #whippet.”

“Keep going pal, it is hard work but it’s achievable,” said another impressed fan.

Labbett has been on The Chase since 2009 and has also appeared on both the American and Australian versions of the popular programme.
