Markdale pharmacy will be a COVID-19 vaccination site

Those 55 or older will be able to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine at Markdale IDA pharmacy.

There’s no word yet on when its supply will arrive, pharmacist Liam Davies said Saturday.

But it’s already possible to sign up to be notified by phone or email when bookings begin by following the link from the Markdale pharmacy website or Facebook page.

On the form, you will be asked your name and birth date, and to supply contact information. There are also screening questions to see if you might fall into a higher-priority group for vaccination.

All appointments will need to be booked in advance, and people need to bring their health card at the time.

Markdale Pharmacy has been chosen as one of three pharmacies in Grey Bruce as a vaccination hub.

Information about Astra-Zeneca concerning the complications reported and its now limited roll-out to those 55 and over in Canada has been reported widely.
