Martha Stewart and Gwenyth Paltrow Are Having a Gift Guide Feud

’Tis the season for celebrity feuds. Because JoJo Siwa and Candace Cameron Bure are not enough, hottie Martha Stewart and Oscar-winner Gwenyth Paltrow are having a gift guide battle on public display.

In a slightly meta video introducing the Goop 2022 gift guide, Paltrow gave audiences a satirical glimpse at the gift-guide-making process. “Some of you may know us from our ridiculous but awesome guide, our cheeky sex guide, our husbands guide, but truthfully, we love all the products in our guides,” Paltrow says in the video.

Referring to her “gift guide suite,” she adds, “it’s kind of like the North Pole, except way more chic.” The video features a Cameron Diaz cameo (she’s promoting her wine) as well as gifts with tags bearing the names of several of GP’s celeb friends, including ex Brad Pitt, Bella Hadid, and Drew Barrymore. Also, there are vibrators (of course).

At the end of the video, Paltrow is driving away in a car filled with presents when she gets a phone call. “Gwyneth, Martha Stewart’s on the line,” a man says. “And it sounds urgent.”

“Guys, I gotta take this,” Gwyneth says. Then she puts on some lipstick and drives away. See the video below:

“I was surprised that I was a part of her commercial and flattered that she wanted to take my call,” Stewart told Page Six.

Goop apparently included the Martha Stewart moment as a nod to the several times Stewart has insulted the brand and its gift guide. In 2020, Stewart, who is also known for gift guides, commented on the vagina candle on Watch What Happens Live. “I’m sure it sold out,” Stewart said per Page Six. “She does that kind of irritating…she’s trying to zhush up the public to listen to her. And that’s great, I mean, let her do her thing. I wouldn’t buy that candle.” When asked why she thinks the candle is sold out, she said, “I think it’s a lot of guys who are horny.”

In a 2014 interview with Net-a-Porter’s Porter magazine (via Page Six), Stewart said of Paltrow, “She just needs to be quiet. She’s a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn’t be trying to be Martha Stewart.”
