The Biggest Scalextric Track Ever Made Is 150ft Long... And It Could Be Yours

Scalextric got serious with this sensational 150-foot long circuit.

And now the world’s largest ever professionally assembled toy track could be yours - as it’s being auctioned off for charity.

Made up of an astonishing 177 pieces, it features the best and most dangerous corners, chicanes and sections from the 2015 Formula One calendar.

The Ascari chicane from the Italian GP, Casino Square from Monaco, the Wall of Champions from Canada, Silverstone’s Copse and the Marina Complex from Abu Dhabi are all included.

There are more than 40 turns, chicanes, straights and sections recognisable to motorsport fans around the world.

The ‘Ultimate 2015 Track’ also includes miniature sized landmarks from the F1 calendar, such as the Monaco swimming pool, the Singapore Flyer, the Silverstone wing and more.

And the track, assembled by Scalextric’s owner Hornby Hobbies, was designed by former F1 ace Martin Brundle (pictured above).

Originally made for Sky’s F1 coverage, it will be auctioned off for Children in Need at the CarFest South event on Sunday, August 30.

Martin Brundle said: “The team challenged me to design my dream circuit using sections from the 19 F1 races in 2015.

"I immediately wanted a figure of eight like our beloved Suzuka, and could only dream of driving a series of corners such as scaling the mountain up to turn one in Austin before falling through the Senna S of Brazil and towards Silverstone’s fearsome Copse corner. And that’s just a small section.”

The track will be auctioned off at Laverstoke Park in Hampshire, and CarFest visitors can race it over the weekend of August 29/30.

There is no estimate for the track, with experts struggling to put a value on it due to its uniqueness.

Guy Lees-Milne, general manager, Classic Car Auctions, added: “We’d like to thank Hornby once again for allowing us to auction this amazing circuit in our sale at CarFest.

"We’re sure there will be plenty of interest and hope to generate a fantastic sum for charity.”
