Marvel's Simu Liu lands new TV role
Marvel star Simu Liu has landed a new TV role on the Gremlins series.
According to Deadline, the Shang-Chi actor will be joining the second season of the animated series, originally named Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai in season 1.
Gremlins: The Wild Batch will feature Liu in the role of Chang, a charming and handsome bootlegger. A member of one of San Francisco Chinatown's most powerful families, Chang's various adventures have landed him in Alcatraz for a long stretch of time. His absence has led his family to believe he's dead.

The new season will take places one year after the events of Secrets of the Mogwai. Viewers will see main characters Gizmo, Sam and Elle travel from their home in Shanghai to San Francisco, bringing even more magic, mystery and Mogwai mayhem.
After a twist of fate, Chang is brought together with the trio. He acts as their roguish guide to America, all while trying to find his way back to Chinatown.
Following the trail of a new brood of evil Mogwai, the gang come up against new supernatural creatures as they journey deep into the American West.

Season 2 is set to premiere on October 3 and will include Gremlins 2: The New Batch star John Glover as a guest voiceover. Glover is known for his role as eccentric billionaire Daniel Clamp in the movie sequel.
While his TV character hasn't been revealed yet, executive producers Tze Chun and Brendan Hay hinted that it may be related to the Clamp family ancestry.
Other guest appearances include The Goonies' Michael Paul Chan, Ronny Chieng, Rick and Morty's Keith David, Will Forte, Deadpool & Wolverine's Kelly Hu and Jimmy O. Yang.
The series is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.
