Matt Damon says George Clooney’s friends are teasing him about being an ‘old dad’

George Clooney’s friends were delighted to learn that the actor is set become a first-time father when wife Amal Clooney welcomes twins later on this year. But according to good pal Matt Damon, some of the 58-year-old star’s oldest friends are also having some fun at George’s expense.

The Great Wall actor opened up about George and Amal’s pregnancy during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. "It's really funny. He's got this group of really wonderful friends. For 30 years they've been out here together. And all of those guys, their kids are either in college or on their way and now George is getting started, so it's pretty funny. I think they're having a good time with him."

Dad-of-four Matt was among the first to know about Amal's pregnancy. Recalling the moment George shared the happy news with him, the star previously told Entertainment Tonight: "I was working with him last fall and he pulled me aside on set and I mean, I almost started crying. I was so happy for him. And I was like, 'how far along is she?' And he goes, 'eight weeks.'"

Another Oceans Eleven alum, Don Cheadle, chimed in on the Clooney twins, joking on the GRAMMYs red carpet that George "is going to be a terrible parent, and we’re going to have to handle that for him… We’re going to take the kids.”

George and Amal's twins are due in June

George previously spoke about his future as a father to CBS This Morning's Charlie Rose in 2015, one year after tying the knot. "I mean, I've thought about it," the actor shared. "I've been asked about it a lot lately because I've gotten married and I'm doing a movie with kids in it. You should see how different, how creative the way they ask me!"
