Madeline Gaudreau is getting ready to welcome her first baby, weeks after her husband's death.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, the pregnant widow of Matthew Gaudreau — who died in a bike crash along with his brother, NHL star Johnny Gaudreau, in August — shared photos from her baby shower. Madeline is expecting her and Matthew's first child, a boy to be named Tripp.

In photos shared on Madeline's Instagram, friends and family members can be seen celebrating at the shower, which featured blue and white balloons, as well as cloud- and "heaven"-themed decor.

"Baby Shower of my Dreams 🤍🕊️," Madeline wrote in the post's caption. "Thank you @gabriellevasaturo for hosting. @bitesizedsis you’re amazing, my husband would have loved all the balloons. The way you were able to tie in my husband brought instant tears when I walked in."

"All my friends and family, nothing [will] bring his dad back, [or] Uncle John back, but I am glad he has so many amazing people around him to remind him how amazing they were 💙," she continued, speaking about her son.

In the photos, Madeline showed off balloons spelling out "Tripp," a photo wall that read "A little piece of heaven" and "Baby Tripp," as well as a sign in front of their house reading: "Welcome to our baby shower," which was signed, "Matty and Madeline."

The Gaudreau brothers' younger sister Katie also shared her own photos of the baby shower, including shots of Madeline showing off her baby bump as she posed with the decor and the rest of their extended family.

"Felt the love from your Daddy and Uncle John today. We love you Tripp Matthew," Katie captioned her Instagram post.

In an Instagram Stories post, Katie wrote: "Today we celebrate Tripp, Matthew and my sister."

"I cannot wait to celebrate the three of you. I know Matthew is so proud of you," she added.

Matthew and Johnny died in a bike crash on Aug. 29 in Oldmans Township, N.J., close to their hometown of Salem County, PEOPLE previously reported. The pair were in their hometown to serve as groomsmen in their sister's wedding that week.

Johnny, an 11-year NHL veteran who played for the Calgary Flames and more recently for the Columbus Blue Jackets, was 31 years old. Matthew, a former hockey standout at Boston College, was 29.

The two were biking on Country Route 551 North just after 8 p.m. when a driver suspected to be under the influence of alcohol attempted to pass another car and fatally hit the brothers, New Jersey State Police previously told PEOPLE.

The driver who hit the two men was later arrested and charged with two counts of death by auto.

Since the brothers' deaths, their families have been candid about their losses. Just days after, Madeline said she will "keep going" for Matthew and their unborn baby boy.

Alongside a photo of herself with her late husband, which she posted on Instagram on Aug. 31, Madeline wrote, "I have no words. I just miss you. I don’t know my life without you. I have never experienced a pain like this. I am so blessed you chose me to be your wife... to love me. You are the best thing about me."

"I know you are watching down in just as much pain as I am looking up. I will keep going for you and our son," she continued. "I love you so much Matthew."
