Mayim Bialik Fans Will Be Ecstatic Over This Major 'Jeopardy!' News

Mayim Bialik is going to be one busy bee this upcoming February.

As episodes of the ongoing 2021 Professors Tournament continue to air, Deadline has reported that Mayim will be back hosting early next year for the quiz show's 2022 Jeopardy! National College Championship.

Between February 8-22, the all-new tournament will showcase students from multiple universities and colleges across the country. A press release from August previously indicated that the winning students will receive a grand prize of $100,000, but it's unclear if that's still the case. The championship rounds will reportedly be shown in hour-long segments, as opposed to the normal half-hour format.

When the announcement was made on Jeopardy!'s social media accounts, fans immediately began to express their excitement. "So happy to have Mayim back!!!!👏👏👏👏," one fan wrote on Instagram. "Looking forward to this 🌸," another said. "National college championship is back🤩🤩🤩," a different fan remarked.

For the time being, Mayim's fans are already enjoying the former Big Bang Theory star's presence at the lectern for this year's first-ever Professors Tournament, which will officially wrap up on Friday, December 17. The winner of this tournament will be given a spot in the 2022 Tournament of Champions (a date for the next ToC has not yet been confirmed).

So far, 38-time champion Matt Amodio and 13-time winner Amy Schneider will qualify for next year's Tournament of Champions, as will Jonathan Fisher, who won 11 games and put a stop to Matt's impressive game streak this fall.

Although former Jeopardy! champion Buzzy Cohen hosted this year's Tournament of Champions, which resulted in a big win for teacher Sam Kavanaugh, it's anyone's guess whether the show will tap him, Mayim or even Ken Jennings to lead the tournament in 2022. Only time will tell!
