MCK hands out portfolios

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake announced this which Chiefs would be handling which portfolios for the term with an announcement that saw new Grand Chief Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer take the lead on two major portfolios, and other returning Chiefs taking on some familiar roles.

Sky-Deer will head up the MCK Governance, External Government Relations, and sit on the Education file, while returning Chiefs Ross Montour will take the lead on the Indigenous Rights and Research and Environment portfolios and Tonya Perron will lead up Justice and Legislation portfolios. Ryan Montour will be in charge of the Public Safety and Regulatory Boards/Commissions and Labor dossiers.

No other Chief will take the lead on more than one portfolio.

Jessica Lazare will lead the Heritage portfolio, while Cody Diabo will head up the Lands and Territories dossier. Lindsay LeBorgne will take on the Administrative Affairs portfolio, while Mike Delisle Jr. will look after the Economic Development portfolio.

Arnold Boyer will take the lead on the Infrastructure, Transport & Operations portfolio, while Barton Goodleaf will look after the Health dossier. Alan John Rice will head up the Community Social Affairs portfolio, while Harry Rice will lead the MCK’s Education portfolio.
