Meet the 12 B.C. athletes who won medals at the Rio Olympics.

Cycling

Canadian women track cyclists win the Olympic bronze in team pursuit.

The team had three B.C. cyclists: Jasmin Glaesser, Georgia Simmerling and Laura Brown.

When Catherine Pendrel suffered an early race crash in her Olympic race, she didn't panic. Instead, the Kamloops cyclist rallied to snag bronze in women's cross-country mountain biking.

Rowing

Rowers Lindsay Jennerich and Patricia Obee of Victoria took the silver medal in lightweight women's double sculls rowing.

Rugby 7s

Kayla Moleschi is the only B.C.- born-and-raised player on the bronze medal-winning rugby sevens team.

"When the final whistle blew, I literally jumped for joy. This bronze medal feels like a gold medal in my hands," she said after receiving her medal.

Soccer

Burnaby's Christine Sinclair scored one of the two goals in a nail-biting finale to give the Canadian women's soccer team back-to-back Olympic bronze medals.

Abbotsford's Sophie Schmidt also helped to propel the team to success.

Swimming

Kelowna's Taylor Ruck will bring home two bronze medals. She was on Canada's women's 4x100-metre freestyle relay team.

She and teammate Emily Overholt were part of the swim team that also took bronze in the women's 4x200-metre freestyle relay.

White Rock, B.C.'s Hilary Caldwell joined the women's wave of medals for Canada with a bronze medal performance in the 200-metre backstroke.
