Meghan Markle had a Pretty Woman moment as she joined her husband Prince Harry at a polo tournament yesterday in a polka dot outfit, reminiscent of Julia Roberts' popular character.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Los Padres polo team, which the royal has recently joined, hosted a special charity polo match on Sunday in support of several local charities.

The duchess, 40, wore a black and white spotty blouse and knee-length, city shorts by Khaite, as she cheered on her husband at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club.

In keeping with the smart look, Markle wore a wide-brimmed black hat, which kept the California sun off her face.

She completed the look, which was straight out of the popular 90s film, with a slick of fiery red lipstick and kept her hair long and loose.

Oversized sunglasses complimented the overall Hollywood-glam feel.

The look certainly seemed to go down well with fans on social media, with many praising Markle for the polka dot ensemble.

"Wow, she looked just fabulous yesterday," one user tweeted.

"Meghan Markle is stunning," another commented.

"Meghan Markle is on a whole different league of her own," another agreed. "She’s exquisite"

While another simply described the look as "timeless".

Prince Harry's Los Padres team were the overall winners on the day, with Markle presenting her husband with the trophy and planting a kiss on his lips.

Realising some of her bright red lipstick had rubbed off on her husband, she quickly took her finger and gave the duke's lips a wipe.

This isn't the first time the Duchess of Sussex has turned to polka dots for a winning look.

Back in 2018, having just announced her first pregnancy, and during a visit to Fraser Island as par tof the tour of Australia with Prince Harry, Markle donned a brown-hued, spotty, nipped-waist dress from & Other Stories.

The polo event comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prepare to jet off to London for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend next week.

They will be joined by their children Archie, three, who was born in the UK, and Lilibet, 11 months, who has never met the British side of her family.

While Meghan and Harry won't be making a Trooping the Colour balcony appearance, alongside the Queen and other key royals, they will attend the weekend's celebrations with Archie and Lilibet.

“Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honoured to attend The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children," a spokesperson for the couple said.

All family members will be included at the service, according to Buckingham Palace, which suggests the couple may be in attendance at the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral on Friday 3 June.

Last week James Corden opened up about his friendship with Prince Harry, describing him as a “devoted and loving husband and father”, and revealing their children have had a play date together.

The Late Late Show host said he is a “huge fan” of the couple and that his experience of them “has been nothing but positive”.

The comedian said that while he acknowledges people have their own opinions of the couple, he will always be supportive of them.

“Look, I’m a huge fan of both of them," he said. "Obviously I know Harry better than I know Meghan but I think it’s really hard to judge, or be judgmental.

“People process things and deal with things in different ways and that’s OK, and it’s all right to think whatever you think about somebody."
