Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have lived much of their four year marriage in the public eye, but according to the Duchess of Sussex, there's a side to their relationship that "people haven't been able to see".

"The piece of my life I haven’t been able to share, that people haven’t been able to see, is our love story," the Suits actor turned royal told The Cut. Meghan went on to quote what she says was the end of a speech she gave at her 2018 wedding, in which she took comfort in the "resounding knowing that, above all, love wins."

"I hope that is the sentiment that people feel when they see any of the content or the projects that we are working on," the Duchess added, referencing her Archetypes podcast and Prince Harry's upcoming memoir – both of which have been temporarily paused in light of Queen Elizabeth II's passing.

Another project the pair have been working on is a documentary with Netflix. As for whether the series will explore their "love story", Meghan said, "What’s so funny is I’m not trying to be cagey."

She continued: "I don’t read any press. So I don’t know what’s confirmed. I will tell you Liz Garbus [the director the Sussexes have teamed up with for their docu-series] is incredible. Liz Garbus also worked on Pearl."

Keeping her documentary cards close to her chest, Meghan said she's going to let her publicist and Netflix decide what can be revealed about the much-anticipated series. Commenting on her other projects, however, she added: "When the media has shaped the story around you, it’s really nice to be able to tell your own story."

Elsewhere, Meghan compared her and Harry to a set of "salt and pepper" shakers. Recalling a life lesson she'd learned at a young age from a friend's mum, "You never move one without the other. That’s me and Harry. We’re like salt and pepper. We always move together."

Meghan and Harry met in July 2016 after being set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. Previously, the Duchess revealed how the couple "snuck out" in Halloween costumes for "one final night on the town" before sharing their romance with the world. Two years later, they wed and now share two children, Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana.
