It feels like the whole world currently has an opinion on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step away from royal life and raise their son Archie as a private citizen in Canada. People are wondering what the couple will do for work now, given that they've pledged to be financially independent and repay the £2.4 million spent on renovating their UK home, Frogmore Cottage (from which all staff have just been let go).

But what about their inner circle? The couple's closest confidants? This is how Meghan's nearest and dearest have reacted to the groundbreaking move so far.

Serena Williams

The tennis powerhouse, who reportedly co-hosted and paid a huge chunk of the bill for Meghan's baby shower, has been friends with the former actress for years. She also attended the royal wedding. It's believed the two met during a Super Bowl party back in 2010, with Meghan sharing a photo of the two of them on her now-deleted blog The Tig, alongside a caption reading: "Taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing and chatting not about tennis or acting but about good old fashioned girly stuff." Meghan has also regularly been spotted cheering Serena on at Wimbledon and during the US Open. Cute!

On the subject of Meghan and Harry breaking ties with the royals, Serena's loyalty towards her friend has been extremely clear. According to a new report from the Daily Express, when questioned on 'Megxit' during a press conference following her recent Australian Open match, Serena said: "I have absolutely no comments on anything with that. But good try. You tried. You did good."

Jessica Mulroney

The Canadian stylist has been best friends with Meghan ever since the pair met in Toronto, where Meghan lived while filming Suits. In August last year, Jessica uploaded a quote to Instagram which read: "When someone faces unfair criticism, you call it out. When that person is your friend and your family, you call those critics what they truly are: shame on you, you racist bullies." She also captioned the now-deleted post, "3 years of underserved hate and abuse" in reference to Meghan's treatment from the press and public.

More recently, upon news breaking that Meghan and Harry were uprooting to Canada and dropping their royal titles, Jessica again took to Instagram, posting a quote from Gina Carey saying, "A strong woman looks a challenge in the eye and gives it a wink." An obvious gesture of support for her friend.

The comment section underneath this post has since been turned off by Jessica, but it's abundantly clear that she's more than ready to stick up for her close friend. Jessica also attended the royal wedding and was believed to have offered Meghan invaluable fashion advice when it came to choosing her dress.

Abigail Spencer

Fans of Suits will already know that Abigail co-starred alongside Meghan in the legal series, but they may not know that she also contributed to Meghan's now defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig. Abigail actually met Meghan prior to securing her role on the show too, via the world of acting and auditioning, and was recently spotted hiking with her and Harry in Canada, just days before the official statement was released saying the couple were stepping down from their positions as senior royals.

While Abigail has kept quiet on their decision to pursue a new life away from intense media scrutiny, the fact that her and her husband were seen hanging out with Meghan and Harry so recently suggests that she's all in favour of their return to Canada. In the past, Abigail has spoken to the press about Meghan very positively, saying she's in awe of her pal's sartorial choices, because she "always looks incredible".

Heather Dorak

Pilates instructor Heather was recently collected from Victoria International Airport, in Canada, by Meghan Markle – who prefers being behind the wheel of her Range Rover, rather than having somebody drive her around.

The two have been close for over ten years, ever since Meghan started training in Heather's Platinum Pilates studio. For her birthday back in 2016, Heather gave Meghan a shout out alongside a fun picture of the pair on holiday.

Again, like Serena, Jessica and Abigail, Heather has proven herself to be incredibly loyal to Meghan and has kept quiet on the royal couple's changing lifestyle, choosing to support (and possibly train) her friend in person.

It looks like Meghan and Harry's move to Canada should be an easier transition thanks to Meghan's super strong circle of friends, who all have her back!
