All eyes were on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19, but many also took notice of the bride’s mother Doria Ragland quietly supporting her daughter through her big day.

The whole world fell in love with Meghan’s mother as she shed many tears as her daughter exchanged vows with Harry.

However, many also took notice of the fact she was seated in the second row and not the first row.

So, why exactly was Doria seated in the second row?

Well, according to royal expert Alastair Bruce the seating plan is “very much” down to the bride and groom.

“It’s very much a matter for the bride and groom,” he told Town and Country.

The royal expert also added the couple enlisted the help of The Lord Chamberlain’s Office to help with the seating chart.

“They will assist him,” he said. “They know the layout of St. George’s Chapel, and they will guide him.”

As for those on social media, some thought Doria was placed in the second row so she was in shot of the cameras.

Another Twitter user also noted the Queen was also sitting in the second row, just on the other side of the chapel.

To be honest, it’s good she was in the second row because otherwise we would not have seen the many touching moments of Doria welling-up at the sight of her daughter marrying her prince.
