A Merritt man has been criminally charged for allegedly uttering threats.

“On February 13, 2021, police were called to the 2800-block of Cranna Crescent for a report of a man who allegedly uttered death threats,” said Sgt. Josh Roda of the Merritt RCMP.

“A police investigation determined that the victim and the suspect were known to one another, and the event was isolated.”

21-year-old Braeden Shane Drake of Merritt was taken into custody without incident and has since been charged with one count of utter threats, contrary to section 256.1 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Drake has been remanded into custody and is expected to appear in court on Feb. 18, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.
