This mesmerising footage shows a natural phenomenon of a frozen puddle thawing under its frozen surface

Award-winning author Elizabeth Rose Murray, 43, came across the startling scene as she looked for inspiration while walking near her home.

A crack of running water at the base of the frozen puddle had, combined with the warmer temperature of the ground, caused the ice to melt from underneath.

The weird, but wonderful phenomenon, gave the impression of creatures moving below the water's surface as Elizabeth captured it on film.
