Metro-east juvenile in critical condition after being shot

A juvenile was shot multiple times Wednesday evening in Cahokia Heights, police said.

The shooter remains at large. The victim’s identity has not been released.

Cahokia Heights police received a phone call at 5:25 p.m. about the shooting in the 600 block of St, Robert Drive, said Detective Sgt. Demarius Thomas.

“When officers arrived they found a juvenile with multiple gunshot wounds,” he said. “The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.”

Thomas is the lead investigator on the case.
