Multiple cars burned in blaze at MIA parking garage. It’s now reopen
Multiple cars caught fire Wednesday in a Miami International Airport garage, authorities say, disrupting airport operations as officials inspect the parking lot for structural damage.
Around 11:30 a.m., a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crew were called out to a fire at a MIA garage near the 2100 block of Northwest 42 Avenue.
Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke coming from the Flamingo Parking Garage, and multiple cars were engulfed in flames. The fire was quickly extinguished.
Twelve vehicles were involved; four caught fire and eight other nearby were damaged. No one was injured.
While the garage was closed for a structural stability check, Greg Chin, a spokesperson for Miami International Airport, said it has since been reopened.
