UFC welterweight Mike Perry claims he never physically abused his ex-wife Danielle Nickerson. Perry released a statement Monday night denying the charges after being informed a story would run Tuesday detailing alleged instances of Perry’s abuse.

MMA Junkie released two stories Tuesday. The first was an interview with Nickerson in which she describes two instances in which she says she was physically abused by Perry. The second story contains audio of a 911 call from Feb. 10 — one of the nights Perry is alleged to have abused Nickerson. On the call, Perry’s mother, Sabra Young, tells a 911 dispatcher she is “scared for my life.”

CW: Instances of domestic abuse are detailed below.

Danielle Nickerson details alleged domestic abuse

Nickerson details two instances in which she accuses Perry of domestic abuse. One involves Perry allegedly hitting Nickerson in the forehead and leaving a hematoma due to his wedding ring. Nickerson also reportedly had a bruised eye and swollen lip. She shared photos with MMA Junkie, but did not want them to be published. MMA Junkie confirmed the pictures showed the injuries Nickerson described.

The second alleged incident occurred Feb. 10. Nickerson said that was the worst instance of alleged abuse she experienced from Perry, according to MMA Junkie.

Nickerson alleges an enraged Perry, 29, “ground-and-pounded” her in their home until he got tired after a night on the town in Orlando, Fla. She fled to a neighbor’s house, where she was picked up by Perry’s mother, Sabra Young, who took her back to her home in nearby Altamonte Springs. When Perry arrived, his mother locked him out and called 911. According to the audio obtained by MMA Junkie, Young reported to dispatch that her son was “violent,” causing her to fear for her life.

MMA Junkie released audio from that 911 call.

On that call, Young says Perry is acting violent and she is “scared for my life.” Young adds, “His wife is inside my house, and I’m afraid he’s going to hurt her.”

Young confirmed that she picked up Nickerson from a neighbor’s house and that Perry drove to Young’s house to pick up Nickerson. Young said she spoke to Perry and told him to leave. Perry allegedly told Young he was going to go home and “burn the house down.”

Perry eventually drove off, and Young continued to describe Perry to the 911 dispatcher. Near the end of the call, Young confirms Perry is a UFC fighter and tells Nickerson, “They’re coming, babe.”

In his statement, Perry said he “did not put my hands on my ex at any point in our short term marriage.”

Perry also admitted to having “an issue with alcohol” and said he’s been part of an intensive rehab program.
