The event was supposed to be a no-photo zone.

The majority of Miley Cyrus's private wedding to Liam Hemsworth may have gone off without a hitch, but it turns out there was one snafu that alerted the press to the secret affair.

News of the nuptials first broke due to Hemsworth’s friend Conrad Carr, who posted snippets of the affair on his Instagram the night of. In the pics, he revealed the bride and groom’s looks, balloons reading "Mr" and "Mrs," the wedding cake, and the family in attendance. While we were happy to get a look inside, the bride was apparently less than thrilled, because they had asked guests to keep it a no-photo zone.

The “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” singer’s sister, Brandi Cyrus, gave more details about what happened on a recent episode of her podcast, per Us Weekly. “Whenever they’ve talked about getting married, they’ve always wanted to keep it very small, and it just be the family and just be at the house. That’s always been what they wanted," she said. “Honestly, Miley’s only friend that was there was her best friend, Jessie, and Liam had a handful of his friends there that were there from Australia.”

According to Brandi, the couple only invited “a very, very small, tight-knit group of people” to the wedding. But one of those people, Carr, apparently didn’t get wind of the no photos PSA.

“Even with family and close friends, they still made a point to say, ‘Hey guys, this is a private thing for a reason. We love you all, but please don’t take photos,’” Brandi explained.

Maybe Carr just got too excited or thought the no pictures rule was strictly for the ceremony? Fortunately for him, Brandi said Miley—a very chill bride, clearly—“doesn’t really care.”

“He feels really bad,” Brandi said about Carr. “I didn’t really ask what happened, but I think from what he said, no one told him not to post about it, so he didn’t know.”
