Milo Ventimiglia Writes Note Excusing Grieving ‘This Is Us’ Fans From Work/School

After a very emotional This Is Us episode, Papa Pearson himself — Milo Ventimiglia — did something cool for fans of the show: He wrote a note excusing them from their Wednesday responsibilities so they’d have time to grieve. Ventimiglia stopped by The Tonight Show, where he talked with Jimmy Fallon about the show and its aftermath, and the note he wrote in response.

The note reads:

Dear Sir/Madame,

Please excuse (blank space) from work/school today, Wednesday. Last night was a very emotional episode of This is Us.

Thank you,

Papa Pearson

No word yet on whether or not this note, posted to Ventimiglia’s Twitter, has actually gotten anyone out of work or school. If it hasn’t, that’s OK, because Ventimiglia already scored himself enough cool points to last the rest of the year. While filming recently in Los Angeles, a member of the This Is Us crew noticed that the next-door neighbors were watching the show. So Ventimiglia stopped by to chat with the fans.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
