FORT FRANCES — A Minnesota man has been fined $5,000 and has been given a three-year fishing ban in Ontario after being found to have committed multiple fishing violations.

Cody Christensen of International Falls, Minnesota pleaded guilty for fishing without a licence and failing to comply with a court order in a Fort Frances court on Feb. 4.

Court heard conservation officers observed the man fishing on Black Sturgeon Bay of Rainy Lake near Fort Frances on Sept. 14, 2019.

He was in contravention of a court order that had been previously imposed on Christensen for fishing without a licence in 2018, prohibiting him from possessing a fishing licence or engaging in any fishing actives in Ontario until April 11, 2020.
