Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski played his part in North Macedonia's goal as they ended their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign with creditable 1-1 draw with Group C winners England.

The 24-year-old was handed a start in Skopje as he earned his 14th cap and earned a penalty when Rico Lewis, the 18-year-old Manchester City defender making his England debut, caught Miovski with his hand as he jumped up for a header.

North Macedonia captain Enis Bardhi put his side ahead from the rebound after his spot-kick was saved by England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

England equalised in the 59th minute when Phil Foden's corner deflected in off home midfielder Jani Atanasov, with Mioski being substituted 15 minutes from the end.

The draw sealed England's place in pot one for the draw for next summer's European Championship in Germany as one of the top five group winners, while Macedonia finish fourth of the five sides regained some pride after their 7-0 thrashing by the same opponents at Old Trafford in June.
