'I do miss her every night,' says husband of woman killed in Portage Avenue crash

The husband of Brandi Manningway, a 27-year-old woman who died in Monday's crash in downtown Winnipeg, says he is trying to come to terms with what happened.

Brandi Manningway was killed when the SUV she was driving slammed into the side of the Buhler Centre at Portage and Good Street, following a chase with police.

"Only God knows why she did it, and nobody knows. The only thing is I hope is that she had enough time to pray before it happened," Stan Manningway told CBC News on Wednesday.

"I do miss her every night when I go to sleep."

Stan Manningway described this week as the worst week of his life.

Brandi had two children and was expecting a third, according to her family.

A 30-year-old man, who was a passenger in the SUV, has been charged with a string of robberies in connection with the incident.
