Missing Fat Cat Piles On The Pounds After Living In Pet Food Factory For A Year

A cat who went missing 14 months ago has been found safe and sound - and a whole lot chubbier - after it made its home inside a nearby pet food factory.

Tubby moggy Clive disappeared from his home in December 2014, leaving his owners Tanya and Jonathan Iron utterly devastated.

But they have a smile back on their faces after their appeal to find the two-year-old Norwegian Forest cat finally turned up trumps.

Clive was discovered inside the pet food factory - and had clearly been enjoying himself because he was a lot fatter than how his owners remembered him.

In fact the greedy moggy has DOUBLED in size.

Marketing manager Tanya said: “Clive was nine months old when we lost him, he was a lot smaller then.

"When we got him back we were shocked to see how big and fluffy he was. He’s obviously been living the life of riley in that pet food factory.”

A local vet told the Irons’ that Clive looked like he had been “very well looked after”, judging by the size of him.

Tanya added: “I think he’s been enjoying himself feasting for the past year.

"He wasn’t a big eater before, but he always had to eat very quickly before his brothers stole it.

“He was probably glad he didn’t have to compete with them to eat for once.

"He has a huge appetite now though. I’ve had to leave him with a big bucket of food, he just won’t stop eating.

"We’re not going to put him on a diet though, he’s just a bit rounder but he’s happy.”

Colin Lewis, retail director at the Kennelgate Pet Superstore where Clive was found, said: “Clive only ate cat food in the factory, I think he thought he was living in a penthouse.”

With all the food he wanted, we wouldn’t be surprised if Clive tried to break back in soon…
