Mom Saves Toddler From Backyard Bear in Seattle Suburb

A quick-thinking mother was captured scooping up her toddler when she caught her excitedly chasing after a small black bear in the family’s Redmond, Washington, backyard.

Home security footage shows the young girl walking out the back door as a bear scurries along a cement wall lining the yard. The girl squeals, “That’s a bear!” in excitement and runs toward it.

When her mom, Samantha Martin, walks out and realizes what is happening, she grabs the tyke and sprints inside.

Speaking to Storyful, Martin said that Juniper loves all animals.

“I was scared and started cussing like a sailor,” she said. Credit: Samantha Martin via Storyful
