Mom won $100,000 lottery prize, then son won $1,000 twice. Now, their luck continues
He plays the lottery with his mom every day, and it’s paid off more than once.
The Anne Arundel County man — a boilermaker who already won $1,000 twice this year — just won much more on a $5 scratch-off ticket, Maryland lottery officials said in a May 24 news release.
It’s his first $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, officials said in the release.
He and his mom take turns buying scratch-offs to play together every day, officials said. His mom is the one who picked the $5 Lucky Riches instant ticket that won him the top prize.
She won $100,000 while visiting him about three years ago. But this was his first time winning this big, officials said.
The man, who was not identified, told his mom right away, officials said. He plans to put the money into savings.
