Moncton woman charged in connection with 2 armed robberies

A woman has been arrested and charged in connection with two armed robberies that occurred in Moncton early Wednesday morning, according to Staff Sgt. Maurice Comeau of Codiac Regional RCMP

In a written statement, Comeau said the 31-year-old woman appeared in provincial court and has been charged with two counts of armed robbery.

She was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on Friday.

Comeau said RCMP responded to an armed robbery at the Needs Convenience store on Mountain Road at approximately 4:30 a.m.on Wednesday.

Shortly after 6:00 a.m., he said police responded to a second armed robbery call, this time at the Needs Convenience store on Morton Avenue.

Police say in both cases, a woman entered the store armed with a weapon, and demanded money, then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured. A short time later, RCMP arrested a woman in connection with the robberies.
