Montreal actress Meaghan Rath to join CBS drama Hawaii Five-0 after cast departures

Montreal-born actress and Canadian Screen Award nominee Meaghan Rath will join the cast of CBS's police procedural reboot, Hawaii Five-0.

The network announced that Rath, along with Ian Anthony Dale and Beulah Koale, will become regulars for the eighth season of the show after two major cast departures were announced last month.

Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park, who've been with the show for the past seven years, exited the police drama due to contract disputes.

The two actors, both of whom are Asian, said that they were unable to negotiate equal pay compared to what their white cast-mates were being paid.

Prior to CBS's announcement, former Dawson College student Rath was best known for starring in the series Being Human.

Meanwhile Dale has already been appearing in the series since season two but now is being bumped up to a season regular. Koale, a New Zealand-born actor of Samoan descent, appears in the upcoming film, Thank You for Your Service.

The new season of Hawaii Five-0 begins Sept. 29.
