Montreal blogger charged with child porn, sexual touching

A 21-year-old Montreal blogger has been charged with 14 counts of child pornography and three counts of sexual touching.

Phylip St-Jacques, 21, appeared at the Montreal courthouse today.

Sgt. Claude Denis of the Sûreté du Québec said St-Jacques was arrested outside the courthouse on Monday afternoon while he was there for a separate case.

“Police had an arrest warrant against him issued earlier, which included 17 charges for sexual contact with persons under the age of 16 [and] for producing, possessing and accessing child pornography,” Denis said.

Claude Aubin, a retired Montreal police investigator, began looking into the young man in June after a parent voiced concerns about him.

Aubin said he spoke with 105 parents and then turned over the results of his private investigation to provincial police.

According to Aubin, the 21-year-old allegedly told parents of autistic children that he, too, was autistic and needed help understanding how to clean himself.

He allegedly asked the parents to show him by demonstrating on their children, during which he allegedly took photos and videos without the parents' knowledge.

Aubin said the man also asked to bathe young children.
