Montreal Canadiens attempt to leave Game 5 frustration behind

When Habs grinder Brandon Prust got into it with Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig Anderson at the end of game five Friday night at the Bell Centre, Ottawa coach Dave Cameron interpreted it as a sign of the Habs' frustration.

He called Prust's actions a cheap shot, but Prust saw the incident differently.

"I mean, he started it. He poked me in the ribs, it's a 4-1 game with two minutes left, I'm going to spear you back if you spear me. If it's a 2-1 game I'd probably let him get away with it, but I feel him spear me in the side and I'm going to give it back to you, I don't care who you are," Prust said.

Much has been made of the Habs' inability to score in the last three games of this series.

Montreal has only managed to score three goals since Craig Anderson replaced Andrew Hammond as Ottawa's starting goaltender before game three.

"It's a new day, things happen in games and you get over them quick and get back at it. It's a brand new day and we're still up 3-2 in this series," Prust said.

Parenteau joins lineup

The Habs' power play has struggled in this playoff series, and after Coach Michel Therrien gave his players a few games to work their way out of the slump, he is making a change ahead of game six.

Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau, who hasn't played since the first game of the series, is coming into the lineup.

"I'm known for my offence and I can help the team in that area for sure, yeah it was a little frustrating to see my teammates not scoring and not being able to get in the lineup," Parenteau said.

The power play might be the key for Montreal to finish off this series in Ottawa Sunday night.

If they can't do it, means a game seven back in Montreal on Tuesday night. At that point, simple frustration may turn to panic as this really becomes either teams series to win.

Therrien did not say who Parenteau would replace in the Habs lineup tonight. Dale Weise did not take the morning skate, but Therrien expects him to be available to play.
