Montreal man accused of sexually assaulting young girl over 3-year period, paying mother for access

A 61-year-old Montreal man is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl over a three-year period, when she was between the ages of six and nine, and paying her mother to have access to the girl.

Marc Clermont was charged Monday at the Longueuil courthouse after being arrested last Friday.

He is facing 14 charges, including sexual assault, sexual contact with a minor and possession of child pornography.

The alleged sexual assaults took place between May 2013 and March 2017.

Police say the girl's mother, 39, came forward to investigators last week. She is accused of having accepted money in exchange for sexual services from her daughter.

The identity of the girl and her mother are protected because of the nature of the allegations.

Longueuil police are looking for other potential victims and ask anyone with knowledge to contact them.
