Montreal police say a 19-year-old boy died from injuries after being shot

Montreal police confirm a 19-year-old man has died of his injuries after being shot.

Police say they were informed around 4:30 a.m. today that an injured man had been taken to a Montreal hospital where he later died.

The victim, according to police, was taken to hospital by three of his friends.

Sgt. Caroline Chèvrefils says a car showed evidence of being hit by projectiles, and she added that police also met with the three friends.

Meanwhile, police say they received several calls reporting gunshots around 4:15 a.m. in the southwest borough of Montreal.

No victims or suspects were located, and the police didn't specify whether they believe the two incidents are related.
