Montreal substitute teacher charged with possession, distribution of child pornography

Montreal police say they are looking for potential victims after they arrested a substitute teacher who works with the Commission Scolaire de Montréal.

Érik Cossette, 51, is facing charges of possession and distribution of child pornography and drug possession with the intent to traffic.

Cossette was arrested last week, when police carried out a raid at his home. Officers seized material on his computer, which included thousands of images of juvenile pornography. They also seized drugs.

Cossette, who was released on bail, is forbidden from using the internet and cannot be in the presence anyone under the age of 16.

Police say they're working closely with the Commission Scolaire de Montréal and are asking anyone with information, or any alleged victims, to come forward.
