Montreal woman, 73, struck and killed by snow-clearing vehicle

A 73-year-old woman was struck and killed by a front-end loader while she was walking across a grocery store parking lot in Montreal's Saint-Michel district at 10:40 this morning.

Montreal Police spokesperson Daniel Lacoursière​ said the incident happened in at the corner of Jarry Street and Pie IX Boulevard.

The woman was rushed to hospital and later pronounced dead.

The front-end loader had been clearing snow in the parking lot of the Super C. Lacoursière said its 48-year-old driver was treated for shock at the scene.

The Montreal police collision unit is investigating.
