Canada Post intercepts 4 suspicious packages destined for courthouses

Suspicious packages still arriving at Canadian courthouses

Four suspicious envelopes have been intercepted by Canada Post destined for Nova Scotia courthouses today.

The packages were addressed to courthouses in Yarmouth, Digby, Truro and Port Hawkesbury. One has also been delivered to a courthouse in Sydney.

A hazardous material team has since removed the package in Sydney and the courthouse has reopened.

"We have internal procedures we are following. Our team of postal inspectors have been working closely with police on their investigation from the beginning," said Anick Losier, speaking for Canada Post in a statement.

This follows the delivery of five other packages to courthouses in the province this week.

In Kentville, the package was addressed to 'Honourable Judge' and the return address was 'Hong Kong' said police.

Two courthouses in Newfoundland and Labrador were also evacuated Wednesday after suspicious packages were found.
