This Morning's 'Spin to Win' game has had its fair share of chaotic moments in the past, though today's (April 2) episode may have been its most brilliant yet.

During the episode, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were forced to improvise after the spinning wheel broke, meaning it couldn't be moved down from the ceiling.

"It won't come down," Phil admitted to viewers, grabbing a ladder in an attempt to get it. "We're trying very, very hard to bring it down."

"I can't even hold the ladder for you," Holly noted of current social distancing measures, Phil then admitting that producers were warning them in their ears: "We're being told, I'm not allowed to go up the ladder!"

"Why's he not allowed to go up the ladder?" Holly asked. "He's a fully grown man!"

Relaying the messages that were being sent, Phil added: "What do you mean health and safety?! In the world we're living in at the moment? You're worried about me going up a ladder?!

"I can still spin it if I had something to spin it with... who's going into meltdown? The deputy editor's going into meltdown! When I'm at home, the deputy editor is not there to tell me to stay safe!"

Holly encouraged him to keep going up the ladder, though then advised her co-host to come down as producers were "having a meltdown".

"Shall we go to a competition or something?" she asked, before Phil noted: "The trouble is, in the world we live in now, no-one is allowed to hold the ladder I'm up! You're not allowed that close."

The pair then decided to relay what was coming up on the show to fill the time as well as go to a competition.

Yet points for professionalism, as they then managed to invent a variation of 'Spin to Win' on the spot called 'Dip to Win'.

Here, Holly wrote the prizes on pieces of her script as Phil grabbed a mug to put them in and then take them out of.

Holly had to avoid touching the cup as Phil had already done so, so Phil took a random piece out once a phone-in guest had called a correct answer.

Luckily, their guest managed to phone-in with the correct phrase, though after winning £1,000 they all ran into another problem — the This Morning gift bag was also stuck on the ceiling!

Phil was able to tell the caller what gifts were within it though, so all was well in the end.

Phew. We need a lie down!

This Morning airs weekday mornings on ITV at 10am.
