This Morning presenter Josie Gibson suffered an embarrassing and potentially painful incident on air today (October 19) as she was bitten by a pig during a live segment.

The ITV show sent Josie to a farm in Buckinghamshire on Monday, with Josie sharing live updates from the Kew Little Pigs Farm to promote the show's latest competition.

But even Eamonn Holmes' warning couldn't save Josie from receiving a little nip, as the pigs ended up getting a bit too close for comfort during the broadcast.

Before hosts Eamonn and Ruth Langsford threw to Josie, Eamonn warned about the potential dangers of working with pigs, sharing that he had been bitten by a pig once.

"I used to be a farming reporter, and very early on in my career I was put in a pen with a pig and it bit me. I've never been the same since," he said.

"Just don't let Josie know that pigs bite!"

The show then cut to a laughing Josie on the farm, revealing that she'd heard Eamonn's warning and was already surrounded by pigs, holding a brush in one hand and food in the other.

But as Josie tried to give her report, sharing that petting pigs was apparently good for stress relief, one of the pigs bit her on one hand, before another pig then bit her on the other, causing Josie to squeal: "Ouch. He bit me."

Eamonn, of course, reacted simply by telling Josie: "Told ya."

After the show, Josie took to Twitter to confirm that the bite didn't hurt, and that the pigs were only after the food that she was holding in her hand during the broadcast.

"I just need to confirm it did not hurt and I did have food in my hand which was not recommended," Josie wrote. "Thanks for having us @kewlittlepigsuk. I can't wait to come back."

In September, Josie was sent to a naturist resort in Merseyside to share details of the programme's latest competition, and viewers were later left shocked when a man accidentally flashed his penis during one of her segments.

Meanwhile, Josie and fellow This Morning presenter Alison Hammond landed a new spin-off segment on the show last month.

Titled Travel Top Trumps, the new series sees the pair hit the road in an attempt to outdo each other as they search for the quirkiest and most exciting locations to stay in during a UK staycation.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
