Morrisburg EMS base lease renewed

MORRISBURG – The land ambulance station operated by the Cornwall and SDG Paramedic Service has a new owner, and a new lease.

The base, which was owned by L and B Properties, was sold to Wells and Son Development Corporation.

L and B Properties was one year into a new five year lease when the sale occurred.

Cornwall City Council approved a repeal of existing lease, and entered into a new five year lease with Wells and Son Development Corporation, at its October 26th regular meeting.

The previous lease terms, which were carried over into the new lease with Wells and Son Development Corporation, specifies monthly payments of $1,680.38. A two per cent per year increase and a balloon payment for half of the yearly property tax bill is also included in the lease agreement. Utilities are included in the monthly lease price.

The land ambulance base in Morrisburg is one of seven bases operated by the paramedic service. Other locations include Long Sault, Cornwall, Alexandria, Avonmore, Winchester, and Lancaster.
