The mother of a young girl who died of cancer is extending a heartfelt thank you to Justin Bieber for both his music and his kindness that helped her daughter so much during her final days.

Pam Drew from Rochester, New Hampshire, recently took to Facebook to share a photo taken with her daughter Karlee and the Canadian pop superstar. Bieber had met with the young fan in Boston in May, and his visit was a big boost to Karlee.

Karlee passed away on July 23 after a long battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Drew reached out to the singer on Facebook and expressed her gratitude to Bieber, explaining the impact his music had on Karlee near the end.

“On one of her last days she was unresponsive to all except when the paramedic had put your song on his phone on her chest and my daughters head bounced up and down a few times and she smiled,” she wrote.

“Thank you so so much. I hope you know you are the sweetest, kindest person. Please know you really do make such a difference in this world, spreading love to so many. From the bottom of my heart thank you.”

This act of kindness on Bieber's behalf is a refreshing departure from other less friendly encounters he’s had with fans in the past.

Not only did the wildly popular 22-year-old singer cancel fan meet-and-greets this year, saying the left him “feeling exhausted to the point of depression,” but he’s also been known to at times reject gifts given to him from his adoring fan base as well.

But despite some of his less than ideal actions in the past, it’s comforting to know he was able to make such a positive impact on a family during such a tragic time.
