Stretches of the Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway have reopened after an early morning motorcycle crash Friday that left one man with life-threatening injuries.

Police had closed the northbound DVP from Lake Shore Boulevard to Bloor Street and the eastbound Gardiner from Jarvis Street to the DVP exit as part of their investigation. The roadways have since been cleared for traffic to resume.

The crash happened around 1:25 a.m. when a 26-year-old motorcyclist lost control and hit a guardrail near the Prince Edward Viaduct.

He was rushed to hospital with critical injuries, police said.
