On June 10, Prosser was involved in a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 521/Camden Highway and South Pike West, according to the release. That’s between U.S. 76 and Broad Street, near the Sumter Mall.
At about 3 p.m., Prosser was driving a motorcycle on Camden Highway when he collided with an 18-wheel truck that was turning on to South Pike West, Baker said. Prosser then hit a second vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection, according to the release.
Prosser was not wearing a helmet, Baker said.
No other injuries were reported in the crash that continues to be investigated by the coroner’s office and Sumter Police Department. An autopsy is scheduled Tuesday at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, according to the release.
