Motorcycle rider who died in Prather crash was Fresno man, coroner says. He wore a helmet
A Fresno man found dead in Prather who was the victim of an apparent motorcycle crash was named Tuesday by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
For unknown reasons, the 60-year-old rider left the road Monday while on Gooseberry Lane east of Highway 168, according to California Highway Patrol officer Mike Salas.
The coroner’s office said he was Robert Putnam of Fresno.
The CHP said officers were alerted about 3:10 p.m. Monday of the apparent crash, and Putnam was pronounced dead at the scene before officers arrived.
He was wearing a helmet and face mask while riding the motorcycle, CHP said. He failed to negotiate a curve in the road and suffered fatal injuries when he struck the ground.
He was not suspected of being impaired, CHP said.
